Chinatown ”needs fast action“
Advocates for Chinatown say government action needs to come faster before changes are made that devastate the area forever. La Presse’s Isabelle Ducas notes a new condo building and some historical steps – the Ville-Marie, the Complexe Guy-Favreau – that have already chipped at the shrinking extent of the area.

I doubt anything will be done. Even the YMCA in guy Favreau that was meant for the community in exchange for the real estate is gone. Any promises to the neighborhood by developers are just empty lip service, vaporware commitments to social housing and schools. At best you’ll get a giant glass tower sitting on top of the Wings factory looking like it’s crapping it out onto the street
