2nd shot gonna be rescheduled tomorrow…Is it tomorrow yet? How about now? Now?
Véronik 17:07 on 2021-06-16 Permalink
I became eligible yesterday, but haven’t been able to reschedule. I just get error messages.

I got my second vaccination yesterday. A friend of mine had gone to a walk-in clinic that morning to get her second shot. I hadn’t even known that was possible. I had been waiting for my age group to move my second-dose appointment sooner, but yesterday afternoon I decided to try the same thing my friend did and succeeded.

(Just to clarify my above post – I wasn’t cheating the system. The walk-in clinic I went to did know it was my second shot, and had information like that on file, and everything went smoothly.)

I’ve had two as of Monday and I’m very grateful. It’s about the only upside of having a stupid disease.
(I’ve also heard of healthy adults dedicating a lot of time and energy to hunting “leftover/extra” doses and succeeding in getting their second dose. More power to them!)

Saw on twitter that Bell Centre was empty of people and full of Pfizer so bixied down there and got my second shot today. I suspect it will remain pretty quiet for the rest of the week and they are accepting anybody over 12 for a first shot or anybody who had Pfizer or AZ at least 8 weeks ago.
Feels a bit anti-climactic personally, but was cool to see how lively downtown was afterwards.

Saturday night is alright for 2nd shots

I registered using the COVID troubleshooting option and had to reregister at the palais but everything went fine afterwards. First was AZ second was Pfizer.

I’m curious to hear from the “Biding my time” people.

BTW, good site here for watching the vaccine progress: https://vaccintrackerqc.ca

walkerp, where on twitter have you been looking?
walkerp 21:50 on 2021-06-16 Permalink
It was just an individual account who had luck. Thread is here. It didn’t work for everybody and after the hot dog promotion tonight, might not be so empty but worth a shot if you can get there easily.

@MarcG – Thanks for that site. The dynamic graphics ones must make everyone who’s part of the rollout proud of their work. It’s hard not to be impressed.

Also, as of Tuesday night they’ve reversed course on recos for AstraZeneca recipients. They now recommend that the second dose be one of the two mRNA shots, as it apparently will confer more total efficacy than getting a second AZ dose. Wife was eligible today (second AZ originally scheduled for August 12) but when we enter her info it doesn’t show any Pfizer or Moderna slots available at all. So today she’ll be going to the three local walk-ins.

Tried to reschedule my second shot, but can’t get an appointment. Not sure if I will go to a walk in, reschedule at CAE where I have a link, or phone to see if there is a bug. I’m not eligible to get it until next week so I can consider for a bit.

I too got blocked on clic-santé. It feels like the website has not caught up to the reality on the ground right now, which is understandable.

Clic santé went from the greatest thing on earth, to the most screwed one. Nothing works anymore, no one to call for help, no options, nothing.

I was unable to “devancer” my second dose yesterday evening (I thought it might open up for my age group the afternoon prior, as was the custom). It didn’t work. Tried again this morning. Same. Tried again after 9h, now I was able to pull up my appointment. Try it again, for those who had trouble until now.

Put me in the stymied by ClicSante camp. Been trying for several days to book with no luck. I think I’ll walk down to Palais des Congres today and try my luck that way.

People have been saying that the “Troubleshoot” option on Clic-Santé has been effective in fixing their problems.
While I appreciate your frustration, Mr. Chinaski, as it is maddening to get blocked by a stupid computer when trying to do something as important as this, please recognize that we are in a period of constant change. It is very hard for the systems, computer and human, to keep up. Approach with those expectations in mind and you will be less stressed.

For those wanting to advance their second dose –
I did so by going to the walk-in clinic at Université de Montréal, new campus. A sign said it was appointment only but there’s also walk-in. You can get the second dose done there as a walk-in, as long as it’s at least 8 weeks after your first shot. No having to worry about Clic-Sante not working.

I second EmilyG. Just got my 2nd hybrid shot at the MIL UdM Campus and cancelled my early July appointment. The UdM site is strict about the 8 week interval. If you got your first shot after April 23, they won’t accept you as a walk-in.
But if you get in, it’s not busy at all. They are very organized and helpful.

No luck for me either at ClicSanté. Hopefully a spot opens up soon, or I’ll have to look at walk-ins.

I was just able to move up my second dose appointment by six weeks… I guess I was lucky, but maybe it also had to do with the fact that I went to the Palais des congrès. It sounds like people who got their first shot at smaller clinics are having trouble because those places have much less capacity.

Hey! After reading Walkerp ‘s comment yesterday, I made my merry way to Bell Centre this afternoon. 20 mins later emerged with my 2nd shot done! No line up at all.
Thanks!!

Walked into Palais des Congres around 145 this afternoon without an appointment, walked out at 240 with a shot of Moderna coursing through my veins. Easy peasy belly squeezy. Stop trying to book online and just show up.
walkerp 20:30 on 2021-06-17 Permalink
Yes! Walk-ins for the win! Did you get a hot dog, though?
dwgs 08:54 on 2021-06-18 Permalink
Sadly, no.

I checked ClicSanté the day that my age group was supposed to be able to move up our appointments, but there were none available at the original pharmacy. To my surprise, I received an email from ClicSanté this morning saying appointments were now available, and sure enough they were. And it even gave me a choice of mixing in Moderna as my second or sticking with AstraZenaca. (Based on what the site said, it seems that maybe the pharmacy was just waiting on supply this past week.)
I honestly think it’s been a pretty good system overall. Not perfect, certainly. But all new software is buggy and considering how quickly it was put together… And even if both languages.
