Quebec to outlaw declawing, docking
Quebec is catching up to the rest of the civilized world in outlawing the declawing of cats and the docking of the ears or tail of a dog. But it won’t become law for a year and a half.

I didn’t want a cat because of my furniture and I certainly didn’t want to have a cat declawed. But I learned that monthly nail trimming is almost as good. And it turns out that the sofa is not nearly as important to me as the joy our cat brings into my life.
I also have much stronger feelings against animal cruelty than I did just a few years ago. (I’ll never eat pork again.)
