Centre d’histoire to move and change name

The city’s Centre d’histoire, which has been in in the old firehouse on Youville Square since its launch by Jean Drapeau in the 1980s, is going to move to the Quartier des spectacles and get a new name: Mémoire des Montréalais, or MEM. This new location and name are expected in 2021.

Item says they wanted to put some space between this museum and Pointe-à-Callière. Nothing yet about the future of the firehouse, but it’s certain to be preserved for its age and its uniqueness in style in the city.
