Haitian group asks for faster immigration
A Haitian community group is pressing Ottawa to act faster on immigration files from that country. For people wanting to help with the situation there, this piece recommends donating to established groups like the Red Cross and Doctors Without Borders.
I’m not seeing anything about what the ordinary Canadian can do to help with the crisis in Afghanistan. That mess is of a different kind.

I noticed quite a few helicopters (which appeared to be military) flying over the city this afternoon. I wonder if they had anything to do with people coming back from Afghanistan.

The helicopter that flew for a couple of hours directly over my place downtown was filming the triathlon.
