The 195th annual St Patrick’s parade will process along de Maisonneuve on Sunday. Authorities are appealing to the public to use public transit to go downtown. We’re expecting a high of –6° though, so it will be chilly, especially for spectators standing still on the shady side of the street.
Incidentally, not only will the parade be going along a different street, it will be going in the opposite direction from its usual route. Did it not occur to anyone that something as big as a parade doesn’t have to follow the normal flow of traffic?
