Hasidic Jews accept vaccinations
Le Devoir is noting that Hasidic Jews are welcoming Covid vaccination both at clinics held in synagogues in Montreal and at a vacation camp in the Laurentians.

Finally! They are one of the most unvaccinated groups. I don’t think the government does enough outreach to this community.

My neighbours are Hasid and I’ve had to bite my tongue whenever vaccines are mentioned in conversation (or Trump for that matter) but I have noticed a change lately. From conversations I’ve had in the past year, many think that they’ve already had COVID so they are immune. Others don’t like the idea of what they call “synthetics” being put into their bodies (deadly viruses are natural, vaccines are synthetic you see).
I have noticed younger people from the community at the MIL vaccine site though so maybe attitudes are changing and Rabbis are advising vaccination.

It surprises me that any Hasidim would be a Trump supporter. Is it just your neighbour Marco, or is it more widespread in the community?

It surprises me that that surprises anyone. You only have two choices in the USA. You never like *everything* about either party, but you have to choose one. Some judge one to be the slightly lesser evil, some the other.
