Craig pumping station coming down

The Craig pumping station under the Jacques‑Cartier bridge will be demolished starting Monday although there are plans to save parts of it. I’m hoping they keep the stone walls that show the city’s coat of arms and A1887D, which you can see in the black and white photo toward the end of the item.

It’s a pity this building was allowed to deteriorate so badly and no use was ever found for it.

The Journal writes that efforts will still be made to preserve the site.
