One dead in overnight shooting
Two incidents of gunfire broke out overnight, leaving one dead and two injured. The homicide, #19 of the year, was in Montreal North. In the other incident, in RDP, a young woman was shot at in her car and received minor injuries.
Quibble: CTV is tweeting that the fatal shooting took place at a high school, which is misleading. It took place in an empty schoolyard at night, not “at” a school (and schools are not operating now anyway), but someone skimming the news might easily get the wrong sense from this tweet (or from a similar headline on CTV’s website).
Update: I also tweeted this observation to CTV and they’re changing the phrasing.
