New trees have been planted at NDG Park to replace ones knocked down in a microburst squall in August last year. Some have been cultivated from oaks at Vimy Ridge in the war memorial section called Place de Vimy.

Work on the REM has begun in Griffintown, dynamiting has started near Édouard-Montpetit metro station and part of Autoroute 40 in the West Island will close for a weekend soon for REM construction work.
In addition, TMR is demanding the REM be covered over through its territory.
