Google doodle celebrates Ferron
If you look at the Google doodle now – I’m up early Saturday, and I don’t know when it will change again – you’ll recognize it, and the person it celebrates, although I don’t see any particular anniversary being marked on this date in her life.
Update: CTV headlines their piece about this doodle “Google Doodle celebrates a dissident Quebec artist” but the text doesn’t explain the choice of adjective.

In previous years, Google would put up a Brazilian flag on September 7th, to celebrate Brazil’s independence day. I’m pretty they do not want to celebrate Brazil, given what’s going in the country right now. This replacement doodle was probably ready to go, so they posted it instead of a Brazil-themed one.
Or maybe they posted about Ferron since she has a connection to Brazil (“exhibiting her work at the 1961 São Paulo Biennial in Brazil, where she won a silver medal”)?
