Healthcare workers are demonstrating downtown near the CHUM and in Laval as I type. They still don’t have a new contract and they’re mad about working conditions. That’s a link on 𝕏 – proper media reports to come.

AFAIK the nurses are demonstrating during their time off.
A nurse told me years ago that nurses in Quebec, despite being unionized, can’t go on strike. They’re considered an essential service and a certain minimum staffing rate has to be maintained. A minimum staffing number that in many places has rarely/never been reached in the before-times, and things haven’t improved since.
