This report says the Quartier des spectacles has done well since 2007 because it’s become the site of $2 billion worth of property development, spread over 60 individual projects.
I’m a little startled by this. I thought it was meant to become an entertainment district, not a condo development zone. Was I naive, or has the whole thing essentially been hijacked?

Montreal’s coyote problem has made it to the BBC’s News From Elsewhere section, with a good summary of the situation, but which probably makes us sound much more Wild West than we really are.
The city’s stated intention to kill coyotes is being criticized. The animal shown in the Journal piece is much bigger and healthier-looking than the ones in the BBC article.
I’ve seen nothing yet about whether this species brings a risk of rabies.
