The city plans to assess the state of its sidewalks next year, which hasn’t been done for a decade. We’ve got 6400 km of sidewalk in this city, some of it in pretty rough shape.

The city’s recycling system got bogged down by delays this week, resulting in pickup failures in several boroughs.

Bit of a tempest about two kids brought to hospital after maybe eating cannabis candy. Nobody even knows whether they did eat any; they’re not in any medical crisis. It’s a non-story and I’d be curious to know why it’s news. Edibles are not even part of Quebec’s current legalization plan: you can get candies and the like by mail although that’s in a legal gray area.

The Open Door, a centre near Cabot Square, displaced by the sale of the church where it operated for decades, has moved to a new location on Park Avenue. It remains to be seen whether the indigenous people it served will make the trek so far from their stomping grounds.
