Glenmount residents still want to join TMR after CDN-NDG borough cut back on the recreation subsidy the borough has been paying to make it possible for them to access the Town’s facilities. Borough mayor Sue Montgomery says it has cost $214 annually for each Glenmount resident, while everyone else in the borough has $128 spent on them for recreational services – and the median income in Glenmount is higher.
TMR’s mayor says it has reduced the payment it wants from Montreal but not enough to satisfy the borough.
Radio-Canada has a map showing the location of the small enclave. I wonder what quid-pro-quo the city would accept to surrender this area to TMR.
