Second Île-aux-Tourtes bridge to be built

A second bridge will be built beside the existing Île-aux-Tourtes bridge off the western tip of the island. This new bridge will be wider than the old, although the initial promise is that this is to allow for bus and bicycle lanes.

Incidentally, did you know that “tourtes” were a very delicious bird we used to put in the eponymous pies? We killed them all. They went extinct in 1914.
