Atwater footbridge closure frowned on
The pedestrian bridge over the Lachine Canal at Atwater will close for repairs all winter, and some say it isn’t safe for people to walk across the Charlevoix bridge instead.

Crossed the Charlevoix bridge a few times a week with my dog when I lived in the area. Its not fantastic, its a tight fit when there is someone coming in the other direction. I’m not sure its dangerous though.

It may not be that dangerous for people on foot, but crossing it with a wheelchair, a baby stroller or a bike can become hazardous, especially as everyone will end up using the western sidewalk.
