The city says do not use the tap water for any purpose in the area bounded by Bleury, St‑Antoine, Beaver Hall and René-Lévesque. Not even for showering. It’s a toxic leak, so boiling it is of no use.
There’s a warning banner up on the city website and a link to a map showing the perimeter.
There was a leak of toxic material that sent four people to hospital.
Update: Friday morning the ban has been reduced to one city block where it’s still in force, although Global’s report claims there was never any contamination at all.
