The death of a calèche horse on Sunday has strengthened Valérie Plante’s resolve to end the trade, although she admits there’s no evidence showing that Charlot was mistreated. A witness says the death of Charlot was a distressing sight.

In other animal news, Anne-France Goldwater has taken out an injunction to stop the euthanasia of the pitbull that injured six people, including four children, in August. I have no idea why this animal has been kept alive.
