Sherbrooke Street, a hazard for cyclists

At least 434 cyclists have been injured on Sherbrooke Street over the last nine years, so pressure is on for a bike path. Although the item doesn’t specify which part of the long street is intended, Hochelaga-Maisonneuve is mentioned.

City hall is expected to present its Vision Zero plan this winter, meant to include changes to make roads safer. Vision Zero is an international movement but I find it a terrible name for a plan that ought to be ensuring that everyone is looking around more attentively in the street.

The number of cars in the city continues to grow faster than the population. More than a million cars were registered last year in the metropolitan area.
